So, the Tories are in poll position to win the next election, or so the polls tell us. But I speak to plenty of people in my line of work and most of them tell me that they don't believe that David Cameron and his team are the answer.
In many ways you can see their point. They are very inexperienced, though that charge could have been levelled at Tony Blair and his team in 1997 so we can really discount that one.
Of course David Cameron does his some experience. He was Norman Lamont's adviser in 1992 when Sterling crashed out of the ERM.
We also need to look at why this recession has come about and most attribute it to the lack of regulation of the financial sector.
Of course in the 80s when the city was deregulated we were told they could run themselves and didn't need heavy handed regulation. In fact most of the Thatcher government deregulation went the same way, and to be quite honest they have all needed regulation strengthened.
This lack of regulation is what has caused the problems today and whilst Gordon Brown must take his share of the blame for this there is no doubt it would have been the same under the Tories.
Will things get better under Cameron. Very doubtful. They may say one thing but we all know they are much the same as before. In the country the same racist, homophobic and anti womans equality permeates the local associations. While Cameron says one thing, the actual reality is rather different.
They will be in hoc totally to big business as before and nothing will be any different.
Will a change of government makes things better. It's very doubtful.
I myself believe we will have a hung parliament
