The Guardian

So, this morning the Guardian claims to have seen a leaked treasury document that shows that the governments public spending cuts will increase unemployment by 1.3 million.

The full article is here:

It's not a surprise. How can you cut spending and not have more unemployment. In addition increasing the VAT rate to 20% is also going to have an effect on jobs in the retail sector. Demand will fall, without question, and jobs will go.

The treasury believes that the private sector will take up the slack and create 2.5m jobs over 5 years. I think they need to wake up. The private sector is very worried about going back into recession and when we come out will need to stabalise itself. There will be no 2.5m jobs created.

I'm not sure who the government ministers are talking to, but they obviously are the wrong ones.

If prove be needed that the budget was harsher than it should have been, then these figures are it.

On yer bike

So Iain Duncan Smith is trying to echo Norman Tebbits famous quote of the 80s. Get on your bike and find work. We'll give up on those areas with no work and move you to other places. It's just like one of those post holocaust films of the future, where there are no go areas. Jeez, it's lucky Mrs T didn't have the idea in the 80s or everyone would be living in the South East by now as there was no work anywhere else!!!

England

In 1991 the 22 teams in the English First division resigned.

The FA stated that their aim was to build a new system which would put England at the top.

This has turned out to be nonsense. All it's meant is that the players are earning disgusting amounts of money. The fans are paying over the top prices and England are going backwards.

The players are playing too many games. Ferguson and Wenger moan about England friendlies but they all rush off on far eastern tours.

In addition the Champions League and Europa league with their endless stream of games are way too much.

It's all very well saying they are top athletes but the body can only take so much.

The kids are stuck on full size pitches at 11 years old instead of playing five a sides. The whole system is wrong from schools upwards.

Yes the Germans and the Spanish play almost as many games, but not at the pace we do.
